adhesive for solar panel to rubber roof

G'day everyone. I have a 2002 Summerwind 911S. I have just bought a 250w solar panel and the white mounting blocks to hold it to the rubber roof.
My questions are....
What would you recommend that I use as an adhesive to bond the white plastic mounting blocks to the rubber roof?
Would you still use screws as well as the adhesive?
What would you clean the roof with before hand?
Thanks in advance.

The AM Solar mounts are VHB and they are meant to attach to a SOLID roof, not rubber. It matters just as much what adhesive was used on the rubber membrane itself. If you don't screw those mounts into the roof you'll find the panels and likely a large piece of roof itself on the side of the road

Agree ^^. Screw them down and seal real good.

  • Check out AMSolar's video on sticking panels to a roof with VHB tape:

  • if you are going to glue down solar panels, I hope they are cheap.
