I bought a used trailer with hail damage - the guy arrived at the asking price by taking the low Blue Book (other than the hail damage, the trailer was in GREAT shape) and deducting the $3,000 he got from insurance. He dropped the price another $1,000 as he had not turned the awning (also hail damaged) in to insurance. So, I got a trailer with a Blue Book of $8500 for $4500 and have not regretted it for a second.
