In your trip planning allow for being out of the Schegen countries for 90 days after 90 days in each 180 days. England, Turkey, some Balkans countries are not part of Schengen visa area.
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein are Schengen Countries.
Once you enter one you have 90 days in the next 180 days and then you must leave for 90 days before you can come back-Legally. Many long term visitors to Europe spend the 90 days visiting in a Non-Schengen country and then continue their agenda.
I use Air BnB and rent a car. Europe is only 3 days drive from anywhere to anywhere and there are good accommodations everywhere.
Good point. Thanks. Yes, I've accounted for these rules. My trip is long and a hire is about $25,000, so I'm hoping to do better then that by buying something.
