Op here...Two things...
(1) Yes, I change coolant but have never done a good external cleaning of radaitor.
(2) Haven't seen his postings lately but there's a retired Ford Trans engineer that does or did post every now and then. But he had what I thought was a good idea. When temps are up because of an uphill grade and your at the top, keep going to get some cool air of the downhill.
