- macjomExplorerMy cousin bought a Banks exhaust brake from 4wheelonline. According to him, it works really good. He tows a 16000 lb 5th wheel trailer.
- Grit_dogNavigator^ Look around at which forum you’re on.
I’m going with argumentative, whether consciously or not.

Sorry, I didn't think the 09 had a VGT.
All 07.5 thru current RAM's do.
Actually all RAMS with the 6.7L CTD starting with the 2007 year model
(After Jan 1, 2007 build date)
That is what I said.
You stated 7.5---these is no 7.5 year model
all 2007 after Jan 1, 2007
Anyone that knows anything about Cummins powered RAM's knows there have been at least two ".5" spit years. They both have had to do with emissions, first in 1998 model year when all 98's made in 97 had 12 Valve engines and all engines made in 98 had 24 valve engines and those are referred to 98.5's Then in 06 for 07 model year there were 5.9's only and all 07's made in 07 were 6.7's also known as 07.5's.
I would have thought you knew this or you are simply being argumentative??? - Old-BiscuitExplorer III

(After Jan 1, 2007 build date) - S_DavisExplorerI have a tune on my 09 2500 HD that uses the VVT turbo as the brake, it works really well.
- JIMNLINExplorer IIIFrom what I've read adding a down stream regular exhaust brake can net around 160 hp for braking vs 320+ hp for braking using the EFI live tuning for the VVT Dmax. The computer changes the variable vanes for more aggressive exhaust braking.
There are several GM diesel forums with tons of input about EFI live tuning for the Dmax. Check out a couple of them for more input from actual GM Dmax owners who have used the program. - Cummins12V98Explorer III
