Air bags

I going to put airbags on the truck now deciding which one Firestone Ride Rite, Load Lifter 5000, or Helwig they are all about the same price is one any better than the others? They are all 5000# but the Helwig it's 5600#, 5000# is more than enough. Thanks

  • Be sure to check out pac brake airbags. I have them on my Ram 3500, no issues in 2 years. I have an airlift wireless compressor to control pressure. No complaints with that either.
  • I like my ride rite with an air compressor. Make sure the airlines are protected from the heat of the exhaust system. Mine was to close and caused the line to melt and then damaged the bag.
  • I love the Firestone. If you install yourself remember to lift chassis and let axle hang before final tightening of brackets to align them. Have had no problems in over 10k miles towing. I went with the Viair 400p portable compressor to air up bags and all tires instead of the Firestone Command air bag system.
  • I got the Load Lifter 5000's last year, but now they came out with 5000+ which has a built in bumper. The plus can be run with no pressure, one less thing to worry about.
