Read directions on gasket box. I thought they were all the same. My old one, compress till 50 or 60 percent compressed, then every year just a little tug on bolts to make sure still tight. Last one I got had little tabs that said to compress till little plastic tab made contact. Both gaskets were the same principal but different how much to compress.
