Hi billtex does this rack stop the cross wind turbulence kerfuffles and is it quiet ?
It is quiet and it does keep the bugs off the body of TC.
We only starting using it regularly last season and I am still collecting data so I cannot say for sure it is helping mpg. I will be prepared to make a statement after this season. I am inclined to say if it keeps the bugs off it must be re-directing the turbulence. Time (data) will tell.
Not familiar with "cross wind turbulence kerfuffles" so can't comment there...
We have driven across the plains a couple of times and all I can say is "hold on to your hats"!
Crazy wind...
But being as the wind foil is in front, and the camper has such a large profile, I am not sure how any of these would help with x-winds?
Can you explain the cross wind turbulence kerfuffles phenomena?
Tx, Bill
Hi Bill - if we get in a strong enough front wind from 10 o'clock or 2 o'clock in our Gen3 Dodge the turbulence can get quite loud at the top/back of the front door right beside the ear... the attached to the camper cab over style air dams like sleepy's and jumbojet's stop it. I was just wondering if your Thule rack does the same thing. Maybe it doesn't happen with Chev/GM cabs?
Thx
