Air mattress or plywood under foam mattress on sleep sofa?

I've had to sleep on the fold out couch due to my snoring a couple times. I usually take the cushions from the dinette and put it on the folded out couch to give extra padding. If I had anyone staying on either option for any long amount of time, I'd put an egg crate or memory foam topper on it like others suggested.
