Air mattress or plywood under foam mattress on sleep sofa?

Trying to find a solution for my sleeping arrangement on the pull out sleeping sofa when my granddaughter camps with us. Other than the frame digging into me all night it’s ok. I’m thinking slide ...

are sofa sleeper sucks to i have the pool noddle on the center bar did not help then tried the air mattress which helped but the mattress would move everytime you rolled over during the night and if you got to close to the edge it would buck you out of bed and now we just place a foam topper on it.
