Air pressure when not towing

I run 55 in the front all the time and 65 when towing and 45 when empty in the rear but I run 8 ply tires so 65 is my max.

My 2500 Dodge/Cummins trucks front axle stays the same weight empty or pulling any of my trailers up to 16K so I found 65-68 PSI works best.

When not towing I drop the rear LT265/70-17 E tires down to 45-48 psi. Makes for a easier ride/better traction and longer lasting tires (up to 115k miles).

I run 50PSI in the rears when not towing, inflated according to weight when towing. The ride at 50PSI unloaded is MUCH better that way.

I air down when not towing (the rears)... Dodge has a dash button that alters the "low air setting" on the TPMS to allow for two different air pressures in the rear tires...45 psi when unloaded and the TPMS button set to "on". 75 when loaded and the TPMS button set to "off". Makes for one heck of a change in ride when unloaded.

I always air down when not towing. Also took the F 250 back to the dealer and had them adjust the TPMS that comes in the truck so it would not always talk to me when I reduced the air pressure.

My F250 is like a log wagon when empty and the tires aired up to what I tow with.

80 all the time. I'm not having any abnormal tire wear (centers going early).

Close to max when towing and at OEM recommended pressure for normal driving.

I drop mine down to 60 psi when not towing or the ride is really rough.

65 front and 75 rear towing or not. Any lower and the tire pressure nanny starts beaching in the dash.
