I looked hard at a new 19' AS, but at almost twice the price of the 19' Lance, and no 4 Season package, or slide out, I just couldn't justify the price of the AS. I feel the quality has deminished since Thor purchased them. I have friends who own a 3 year old 19', and I think a1980ish 34'. Both are quite happy with how they tow, not thrilled with the build quality of the newer one though. That's not just an AS problem, but for the price of a new one there should be very few concerns.
I understand a lot of people are willing to spend more money for the style, name, and being able to belong to the "cult" that is the AS Club, but that was just not an interest to me.
I have to admit reading on the AS forum, about leaks, and rotting wood floors, even in the newer models, was a factor in my decision.
My research was from about 3 years ago, and quality could have improved.
Bottom line, just too expensive, even if it is aluminum.
