No need to since RAM has a very capable 68RFE. 65K on mine at trade zero problems towing 28-29K with 3:42's. So it's more than enough for the 2500.

Point is both GM and Ford install their HD tranny in all their HD configurations except RAM.
I would have to say the OP is wise to pay the extra $$$$ and get the Aisin tranny.
