I was glad I saw the recent trip report and had a chance to comment on it, as well. I will greatly miss seeing the Great Whazoo here in a forum that is made great by the people that post here, comment here and come and lurk. There are certain people, that make this forum more than what many other Truck Camping Forums are and I am without a doubt saying in My Honest Opinion that Dave Rogers, A.K.A., Whazoo is easily at the top of this list. A quality person all around.
Those that have seen Whazoo's posts in the last couple of years, know that he has come and gone, more the latter in recent months. It was just a time, as it is for many of us to step back, step away, or in Whazoo's case, walk away and shut the door. If you search his name, you will see his Handle, Whazoo, is not longer a member here. That makes me sad.
The earlier Trip Reports are expired, thus locked from any editing, including deletion. This can be changed, per request of the Admin, and I hope these ones will remain.
Dave had many times and many reasons for leaving and this was a time for him to step out and away. I wish him the best and like the great Edward Abbey, as we hike and explore the deserts of the Southwest, I hope to capture a glimpse, may just a spirit of the Great Whazoo, still out there adventuring and hiking with his beloved; Bear. I for one will miss reading about him, here.

I think bka0721 has the most accurate opinion and statement of Whazoo's reason for leaving and like the rest of you, I will surely miss his TRs. There is a lot of work that goes into posting a TR, which is why I don't post any, so when your creation gets changed I can understand why that would upset somebody.
