I guess electrically powered vehicles are coming but seems to me they are presently only a rich person's toy with present technology. By that I mean, they're only good for around town and short trips ...

And obviously some customers will pay the cost of an electric vehicle. Like 90,000 Teslas sold in the last three months alone. Nissan also shows positive margin on their leafs. Don't know about the rest.
Income statement has shown losses every single year. Take the billion dollar losses over 90,000 vehicles, and that's a bunch of money lost per car.
They are running out of cash.
