I'm confused. what part of Hybrids are underpowered, and won't hold highway speed didn't you understand???
I had a plug in hybrid for 3 years. It would easily hold 80 on the freeway up and down hills. It had additional speed available.
All I can say is. I set my cruise, and the little Hybrids come up to pass, or I start to pass, and as we start up the little hills they ALL slow down, while mine does not, and I fairly blow by them up the hill. but then on the down side they do come back around. Just under powered
Now having said that. When I retire, and it won't be long. An electric vehicle wouldn't be bad to run to the store in. Maybe one like the ones you see in some RV dealerships, or maybe even just a Golf Cart. But they kind of worry me some, as I was standing near one at work while it was charging, and it just exploded. Could have been really bad if any one had been sitting on it.
