All this talk about electric cars is very interesting reading. But here's one think on one has brought up about daily cost of operating an electric car.
Right now when most people go to the gas station you've paying a gas tax that pays for the building and maintenance of out highways. So in the future when everyone is now driving around in an electric car how are the roads and highways being paid for. My brother and I where just talking about this same problem yesterday. Something to think about. By the way he owns a Prius.
Good and important point. Right now it’s being addressed in many regions, states, provinces by an annual registration fee. But many feel it could be better addressed thru technology by tracking the mileage of the vehicle. This will show up in the commercial side first but I can see it making it to private vehicles as well.
Most of us driving EV’s recognize this as a necessity and encourage the adaptation of some kind of fee. But, as said many places already have something in place.
