I too, would like to see some study on the cradle to grave effect of battery production. If every vehicle goes EV, we are talking a magnitude increase in lithium demand.
Anyone got any articles? How recyclable are various types of lithium batteries?
I'd like to see electrification on vehicles that doesn't rely on batteries - more trolley buses in cities, and electrification of the rail network. If you look at Europe and Asia, a lot of their heavy freight is moved by electric locomotives. Here in BC, due to our inefficient rail company, a lot of our heavy goods (lumber) are moved by the least efficient method - diesel trucks.
