All electric vehicles?
I guess electrically powered vehicles are coming but seems to me they are presently only a rich person's toy with present technology. By that I mean, they're only good for around town and short trips ...

Nice try but no. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa; 63% of juice comes from fossil fuel in the US.
This is your oil wells just burning. Could probably run ALL electric vehicles on the road today with this wasted energy just to extract your unrefined oil.

So both pipelines have emissions that are out of the drivers' control. The EV itself has no emissions. And you are right that I do not want to drive near a coal plant or behind your smoky vehicle. EV owners BTW have a strong propensity to have solar panels... do you?
