Oh, good! So, if I need to make a trip to Great Falls when it is snowing and 20 below zero, with a 15 MPH headwind and a 1000 lb. load, and the ambient conditions reduce the range by 50% more or less, I MIGHT make it to Great Falls and find a charging station before the batteries are so low it won't move.
Sorry, no thanks.
I wonder why nobody has tried to convince me that I actually CAN afford to buy one of these things, and I will get it paid for before I die!
By the way, how much of the battery, frame, and body is recyclable with the recycling technology of today? In the event of a severe crash, how much toxic waste is spilled on the ground? How difficult is it to clean up? What happens when that high amperage battery bank is shorted out in a crash?
Stay home until the storm passes.
Nothing really spills out if the lithium burns. Are you comparing this to when 20 gallons of gasoline spills out and catches on fire? Lithium is much more self contained.
Not affordable to all. Even the low end VW coming up will not be affordable to all. In the mean time I recommend a used vehicle. And stay away from a new diesel truck too... those are not cheap either.
