In the event of a severe crash, how much toxic waste is spilled on the ground? How difficult is it to clean up? What happens when that high amperage battery bank is shorted out in a crash?
Detroit area had a battery pack being transported by a truck... transported. They had to call out Fire Department from Detroit Metro Airport to put he fire out (20ish miles away). It became a hazardous waste cleanup after the fire was finally extinguished.
Curious. What toxic chemicals are in an electric car. I know the 12 volt lead acid battery is considered toxic waste (yes many electric cars have them for automotive functions), but what else is in an EV that makes it toxic waste? Don't actually know.
