Alternate to Atwood WH

I pulled a rookie move and forgot to drain my hot water heater. Low and behold, its cracked. Is there a lower cost alternative to the Atwood GC6AA-10E that I have? Its going in a 2013 Coleman 27BHS.
  • Here is a place that does a great job repairing them and guarantee their work… they do a lot of them, or you can use them to compare cost of others…

Yes the rest of the heater is fine.. I didn't think about getting he tank welded. Ill pull it apart and see what the cost is. Thanks

Depends on where tank is cracked........you may not have to disassemble it. Just remove whole unit.

If you have to disassemble for welding you will need new clamp rings which go over the burner/exhaust 'U' tube.

Here is a little article on repair of tank........LINK

  • The alternative is another Atwood.

    Suburbans are different sizes.

The Atwood tank (aluminum) can be repaired....welded. Which doesn't cost much.
Either that or new tank or another complete WH.
  • Have you priced just replacing the tank? The rest of the heater should be okay, right?
