Sounds like Ford practiced on your Explorer and since stuff didn't rot or fall off
they assumed then knew enough to build a whole body out of ALU... :B
Be sure to tell Ford if your hood and fenders do fall off...so they can
fix it on these all ALU body pickups... :C
Plus didn't say can't be done...just that there are things that must
be accounted for...my 64 MGB roadster had an ALU hood...so have been
around automotive ALU since the 60's. Funniest is buddies Alpha and
his girl friend who sat on his fender...left two sit bone marks... :S
PS...part of why sold out of that boat partnership...
Those guys are clueless on this stuff, but the tipping point was when
they changed out the outboards for twin +250HP's. Told them the
transom wasn't designed for that kind of HP...
