Am I stretching my ecoboost limits?

I bought a 2013 Keystone Premier 31 BHPR last month and pulled it 50 miles with my 2011 Nissan Titan CC 4x4 with Terra Grapplers, Bilstein shocks, Volant intake, Magnaflow exhaust and a programmer and thought it pulled good. It is dry weight of 6300lbs and gvwr of 8000. I took a day off work a week later and pulled it around for about 100 miles unloaded with no family in the truck. Last Thursday I traded the Titan for a 2013 F-250 XLT CC 4x4 10k GVWR. No way in he#@ I am going to risk the safety of my family. Did it have the power to pull it. Yes. Would I have felt safe with anyone else in the truck pulling it fully loaded, NO WAY. My new truck tells the TT what to do instead of the opposite.

We didn't want a SB so I guess we ended up with the best we could. Thx for the explanation makes sense now....

My 10 F150 SuperCrew 145" 4x4 xlt 5.4 3.73 maxtow had 1857lbs. Also had the 7650lb GVW

1800lbs can be had with 145" WB. I'm looking at a '12 XLT (XTR), max tow, Ecoboost, 145" screw and the payload sticker on the door says 1804lbs. It even has the 20" wheels on it! I think you can see closer to 1900lbs if you get a more stripped down trim level.

The max towing package on crew cab 4WD F-150 means 7650 pound GVWR for 5.5' bed, 7700 pounds for 6.5' beds. Do you think the extra foot of bed weights more or less than the 50 pound GVWR delta? I think it's about 125 pounds, net of 75 pound loss.

Is your truck a no option XL?

Load up your Egoboost and go to the scales to weigh it

Then take the GVWR and F/R GAWR to do some simple math

That is the only true way to know what your 'payload' is and if over the limits

Therefore stretching your TV's limits

Don't ride the brakes - they will overheat. Use the brakes to slow down then let off to let them cool. Then when the speed builds up again use your now cool brakes to slow down again. (Or get a suitable TV.)

Shouldn't be too far off. The sticker on my 145" XLT 4X4 is 1794 lbs, only about 70 pounds different. My tailgate step might weigh nearly that much.
