Both current truck and MDT are st cabs.....BOTH with 8'plus beds.....Not sure why one needs a short'r than 8' bed. Can not get sheets of plywood, 2 3-4K lbpalletsof concrete wall block, pavers etc in the bed......lose payload due to cab.....
Then again, a crew cab is great if you have kids, mine are 25+, no grandkids.....Turning radius is MUCH smaller with a reg cab...Navistar turns tighter than the 88 ext cab I had with a 30" longer WB.....
Trucks are like hammers, many sizes and types to do many different yet the same jobs/tasks. Get what suits you!
