It seems that generac would have the design worked out as far as starting goes. Anyway it made me think about a champion that I converted to propane. I used a regulator that had a 12 volt prime function but even that wouldn't help when it got down in the low 40's. At those temps I would wave a propane torch over the cylinder and head area of the engine and it would fire instantly as it thought it was now 80 degrees out.
I guess it would lead me to think of it as isolating the problem. Could you separate the gen from the camper and see it run another item? Then start a process of elimination. Maybe power up the camper without the transfer switch just to test things. Then power up the camper from the gen with no transfer switch. I didn't go back and read the whole story but yes, it's dieing from a lean condition or an electrical overload it would seem. If the gen is isolated from the camper and it dies out it's probably a lean condition and may need the mixture enriched.
