Ok I read it again. You need to prove what is and what isn't. So is the gen dieing from an electrical "Signal" or loss of signal? Or is it dieing from excess load or short? Again, it seems like it needs to be isolated.

You may have 2 or 3 problems and I see it as separation and proving what the gen will or will not do depending on if it's connected to the camper or powering a separate item outside the camper.
