Yes you need to remove a bolt and loosen one to rotate the jacks up, then replace the bolts and tighten both bolts.
I carry a collapsible walking stick with a ball like top behind the seat to push in the canvas and also emergency cain when needed.
Thank you, Jim!!!! The inside of the door looks like it might have had some water intrusion - but it's solid. I'm happy for that! And yes, my camper has a slight ding in the front passenger side corner (where I found the rot), so that could have been the culprit. I plan to tear out the old caulking and redo it.
OK - note to self: bring socket set for jack rotation (which I'd probably only bother with on longer trips)
Hiking stick? BINGO! I always have those around anyway. Problem solved. And now that I've been enlightened, a kayak paddle (something I'm guaranteed to have if I'm by myself)) would work, too.
