And the Airbags are installed

Ahhhh the suspension work is done (for now);), I had my Airlift Loadlifter 5000 extreme air bags installed. These are the bags with the internal snubbers that allow you to run them at 0 psi unloaded. Looking at all the mounts and crud they had to work around to get them in place and the lack of me having any free time, I got my moneys worth. We are heading out with the horses in ten days to see how everything balances out

fillers on passenger side of bed ( I don't like standing in the roadway)

you can see everthing here
Lover stable loads, Air bags and off up in the front the upper stable load.

good shot of the mounts

Yikes, $300 and less than one hour to install.

  • Seems like you have a pretty good setup there. When not carrying the camper or hauling the horses your upper stable loads are not touching, you can disengage the lower stable loads and your air bags can be deflated.
Then as you add a camper and/or the trailer you have three stages of assist to help out.

Why? The two are independent of each other. The overloads and the upper and lower stable loads are all I need with just the TC. Its when I have the horse trailer hooked up with two horses on board I need leveling help of about an inch or so. I got the extreems so that without a horse trailer hooked up I can run without air in the airbags

  • Do those bump stop perches ever crack? They don't look like they are meant to carry the full weight of a cabover. The Firestone Ride Rite actually mount to the axle tube and bypass the small perch. In my opinion a better design. Although I have not read of anyone having a problem, just an observation. Otherwise they look great.

  • Shoulda have the fillers run inside the cabin.
Looks to me newer the truck - harder to find space for bags.
I had bags on 1999-2001 trucks, but looks like on present 2007 I would have to build something similar to the above.
