I live in an area that for the past 25 years gets 2 to 6 inches of snow, 1 to 2 weeks a year. I had 4x4 vehicles, but as I recall, only uses 4WD three or four times. I have had my 4x4 Samurai for off road, but only in snow a few times. Bottom line, when it comes to driving in snow, I am dumber than a boot.
I do have a couple of questions:
1 I have read cable chains are not legal in some states. Any truth to that?
2 With a DRW, is it legal to run chains only on the outside duels?
3 With a DRW, is it legal to run cables only on the outside duels?
4 Is the need for chains as important as the west coast makes it out to be?
