Another bigger Ram recall !

LINK

Had mine inspected about 5 years ago and they told me mine was not affected. Wonder if I'll need to have it inspected again?

LMAO.... How many factory Dodge RAM tie rods are still in service. Heck our 05 RAM had it's tie rods replaced in less than 120k miles with AM parts! :R

See my previous post, rather be lucky than good Troy!

It's the same recall that's been posted now about ten times.

    Don

I didn't think so Don, the recall was expanded by like half a million trucks which included our truck model years. I guess a moot point for you since you've already replaced yours :W I'm still OEM so kind of interested in the extension in MY.

  • 1.2 million compared to 842,000 seems like a significant increase. I owned a 2011 Ram 3/4 ton crew-cab diesel but only for nine months. Don't know if I would have had problems, but got rid of it for other reasons.
  • The newest Tie-rods index themselves so there's no way they can be installed in a bind as was the problem with the ones that broke.
  • My 07 Dodge 1 ton tried to kill me twice because the tie rods fell off, leaving me with no steering.
After Dodge fixed it with the so called new tie rods, it happened again a couple years later.
We now only use on the dirt roads of the ranch where we never exceed 10-15 MPH,I won't drive it at all, but my brother and sister still do.

  • The 842K recall was announced a few days ago and discussed in about 10 separate posts in this forum. Sounds like they've added a few more model years a few thousand each to that, but it's not allot more...
