Stopped at a local Ford today. Spoke with a salesman about my plan and what I would need to accomplish it. Gave him all the info. and he got out his notebook chock full of towing/payload info. and configurations for the F150. What I want to do is possible as far as handling MY trailer.
What I was really surprised to hear was (if this young man was correct) is the 'max tow'/payload configuration referenced by others in this thread is only available on a F150 standard cab 6 3/4' bed with the 3.5 Ecoboost, tow package and 3.73 rear axle. Salesman quoted 11000 and change towing and a payload of 2316 lbs. Not the truck I need, but was an enlightening experience with some of the other info. he provided regarding towing as well.
