One thing I would add, how often and how far are you going? If you are towing 3 times a year just down the road, any newer half ton is technically capable. If you are towing long distances many times a year, I personally would go diesel regardless.
I'm surprised more people haven't chimed in with their experiences on the F150. Maybe cause most people don't tow your size trailer with a half ton on this site?
