Seems Ford has gone back to days past. My 2017 Ford 6.2 has a dipstick for the tranny, and I'm guessing it could be used as a fill point also. Maybe Ford got a lot of pushback over the years for not having one, and decided to give in?
I wonder if its not a case of the F250 being engineered for harder service and requiring shorter maintenance intervals, rather than the F150 being engineered as more of a commuter vehicle with occasional light truck needs. Not trying to disparage the F150 or half ton trucks... I've owned an F150 and a Tundra and they were great for my intended purposes at the time... but its very clear that the 3/4 or 1 ton trucks are designed to be WORKED nonstop and the half ton trucks are designed to be able to handle work on occasion.
Just a theory, not an attack on any brand or weight class vehicle.
x2. Probably why the 3.5 EB which out performs the 6.2 isn't in the F250.
