I had a 2010 F-150 at one point. I recall the dipstick/fill to be right on the side of the transmission, above the pan. There was cover over the bolt.
I also remember reading some literature from RAM at one point for regular driving of the 2500 and 3500 trucks. They basically specified a 120k mile trans fluid change interval because that's as far as the maintenance manual(s) go. But they had great confidence in the tranny fluid lasting that many miles under most uses. I'm sure most of the OEM's feel the same way. I also recall that many owners don't know how to properly check trans fluid levels. Owners checking their transmissions cold and over-filling with trans fluid was a source of headaches for many OEM's. Remember, the average truck owner now a days doesn't even know what they're looking at when they open the hood.
