Another Tesla problem

I'm in my 60's and have never been in a car accident. That said, and much to my embarrassment, once I was on cruise control on the interstate approaching my exit ramp and went to tap the brakes to slow down when the truck started to accelerate. Shocked I pressed harder and the truck continued to speed up. White knuckled I made the curve and went to let off what I thought was the break pedal and the truck slowed down. To this day I don't know how I thought I was on the break when I was on the gas. This was 20 years ago when I was a little sharper also. :h :S
