Water heater and cabinet removal:
This one is a tough one: every service other than drain is in there. You have 12 VDC, 120VAC, hot water, cold water, propane, and the antenna/cable connections. Lucky for me, I am proficient (I hope enough) in these matters. All the services other than the propane line enter the cabinet through holes in the walls. This means I had to disconnect them all, including cutting through 2 of the pex lines (I have a crimper and fittings to reconnect later).
This is what it looks like from the access panel:

And the services going under the slide out feeding into this section:

As you can see, the floor here has been wet a lot. This is where the lower slide-out seal was funnelling in the water. I can't wait to fix this area.
All the wires pulled out:

And connections in the water heater cabinet disconnected or cut. Note: that green wire looks like it used to be connected to a red wire, but was not connected when I got the trailer ( water heater had recently been repaired). There is a red wire with a bit of green wire on the end, and there is only 1 green wire in the whole area. I wish I had a wiring diagram or a colour convention for these trailers.

Now to the outside:
The front panel pops off easily - just a couple bent wires acting as hinges. Then a couple dozen screws later, and disconnecting the propane line, and it's loose!

With the foam insulation around the tank, you have to be very careful when pulling it through the opening: there is VERY little wiggle room! Here it is once it's taken out:

Once it's out, this is what it looks like with the heater gone.

I need to cover this opening with something. Hmmmm.... I know: Let's put some of the vinyl flooring!!

Now to removes a few dozen screws, CAREFULLY pull the cabinet loose, and voila! :
