Yes, I made a framed box for the new wheel well. I also lined the road side with .125" 404 high tensile steel. I screwed/glued the steel plate into the wood frame. This added a lot of weight in place of the original plastic wheel well but, like your trailer, a lot of my electrical and water service is adjacent to that area. I didn't want a tire blowout taking out any of the electrical or plumbing.
