You are doing a GREAT job! Timewise were are you at in this project?
Thank you!
In order to keep my sanity, I have to purposefully not keep track of my time spent on this. I can only say this: I have spent nearly every spare moment not at work on this trailer. I think I am at 60 or so hours. It's hard to really gauge this, because there has been a lot of head-scratching time, plus I'm not set up to do these kind of repairs, so I'm having to make due with what I have.
Also, there have been times I was just sitting in the trailer, looking at the work I needed to do, and just sip a beer while pondering my next move. If I were working on this for a client, the job would have been done a long time ago. Also, I would have taken EVERYTHING out, and redid the entire floor. This is more of a hindsight statement: I would have changed how I made the flooring, and would not have taken the time to peel off the top layer (1/4" plywood). I would have gutted the entire floor, and rebuilt it from scratch. Now I have to figure out a way to support the floor in middle of the trailer in front of the entrance. And it's not easy, as the only supports I can attach to are the two main support beams, which are shaped like a letter C, with both open ends facing inwards: makes it difficult to attach to. I'll have to make special brackets in order to make this work... More time, more money, and a Bottle of Gibson's for my welder buddy...
It's a labour of love: love for my wife and my love to hate the guy that sold me this trailer! heheh! :)
