Hi, I am new to rv's so this might sound dumb to . I was trying to raise my antenna , and it would not go up , I noticed that the spring just above crank is missing, could this be the problem? Look...

We're new to RV'ing too and had the exact same issues.
Definitely lubricate it. Climb up top. A little spritz of white lithium grease on the worm gears and it'll raise and lower much, much easier.
Once it's going up and down, raise it then I used a little WD40 to loosen the rotation. Now it spins easily.
