Antifreeze
Hi to all. we are full time in a campground. Can antifreeze or something else be put in the holding tanks to keep them from freezing? Thanks God Bless.

IF you use only pink antifreeze in the system as a 100 percent replacement for the water.....and use it only for flushing the stool.....I don't think the liquid human waste would be enough to cause freezing. Guess you'd have to read the label on the pink stuff and do a little guessing. It certainly would be less likely to freeze in the holding tank than if you used plain water from a bucket.
AND......maybe even more important:
I can't figure out how one would "dump" the holding tank into a plain bucket without making one hell of a mess.....and ending up with most of it OUT of the bucket. They make special receivers/carriers just for that purpose, with good reason.
Maybe the best solution in a case like this would be an old fashioned chamber pot or a chemical toilet.
