- dodge_guyExplorer III installed my vent cover back in 07 when wr bought our trailer. The vent has been open ever since. With the way the vent is situated it actually creates a vacume and pulls the air out of the trailer. I was always impressed how cool the trailer stays while on the road with the vent open.
- L_R_GExplorerBest mod I did was install Maxxair II's, leave vents open all the time now. Another +1 for the Vortex fan. I've had the older, single speed fan for over a year now and it's been great. Huuuuge upgrade over the little noisemaker that came from the factory. For the price it can't be beat.

Yup. First mod we did. DH had no issues installing them. We now leave our vents open all the time unless on the road.
I'm thinking of installing one of these vent covers...but is it ok to have the vent open while on the road too?...that would be a bonus!
we forgot to close the bathroom vent one time and it sucked all kinds of road dirt in. all though, I don't see why it shouldn't be any different than a sunroof on a car. - IAMICHABODExplorer III
I would have recommended a fan replacement if I had seen it was going over that.
A really great replacement for that noisy fan is a Vortex Fan.
Easy to install, no cutting or re caulking just slide it in.
I like the multi speed one.
Vortex - 93Cobra2771ExplorerLeave mine open all the time when not in use.

I cover my TT while in storage with an ADCO cover. It gets full sun during most of the day. Would it be a good idea to install one of these and leave the vent open while stored to dissipate heat?
Yes. - LeBoutExplorer

Yes, with a MaxxAir installed you can keep the vent open even when traveling. - 2012ColemanExplorer II

Yes - the ADCO covers are vented very well. Other than this, I can't see a purpose for these - When I'm in my TT I have the AC or heat on so other than to vent the bathroom when needed, mine is closed. If it is raining, the current cover can suffice if cranked open a little.2012Coleman wrote:

Does your cover breathe? - limberyExplorer
