Very good advice, and well said.

I second using Costco if you can. I tried everything when I was getting quotes for my new truck last year, and the Costco deal was easily the best price.

Is 53k out the door or plus tax, tag, and title? OTD is pretty good from what I've found otherwise I would shop around.

I worked a deal last weekend on a 2014 Ram Mega Cab Dually. They came off 57k sticker to 48k plus TTT. Still a bit high for an SLT. I'm still shopping around.

I would not consider $53k for a heavy duty diesel truck a bad price but it is far from being a good price. If I were shopping for this truck I would take the time to work a deal and get the truck for $47k or less. If it takes me a month and dozens of hours to save $6,000 then I will do so and have often done so in the past.

My 2011 heavy duty GM diesel truck cost me $41,700 and including every available option except the nav system. In addition to the accessory and tow packages I got the dealer to throw in a bed liner, chrome side steps, and a GM diamond plate aluminum tool box. I bought the 2011 in October when the 2012 trucks were starting to arrive which helped.

You have more room to negotiate by selling your current truck later to a private party and not making it part of the deal and my going into the dealer the last weekend of the month and by talking to the sales manager or the fleet manager and not a salesperson whose $1500 commission is otherwise part of the deal.

Are you a Costco member? If so, use their service. We did with the Wife's new Traverse and it was the best buying experience ever. $1400 below invoice. GM had a $1,500 rebate at the time so it was a pretty sweet deal. I had a copy of the invoice too so I knew they weren't BS'n.

Contact Dennisdilliondodge in Caldwell Id. I'm headed out there next week to look at trucks. They guarantee the lowest price. Theyre giving about $12,800 off on a 2500 Laramie with a sticker price of around $62k. The higher the MSRP, the more you'll save.
They also list the price on their website which makes it nice to compare.

That's interesting the two were so close on yours but so far on mine..... hmmmm. They actually offered me 20K at one point but I finally beat it out of them that 5000 was built into the price of the truck I was looking at. It's fun to catch dealers lying.... they really don't handle it well

I talked to the dealer to let him know I changed my mind, no pressure, I would definately buy from them in the future.
