I'd shy away from anything made by Thor Industries only because they're suffering from money problems and disharmony at the top.
:h money problems??? Disharmony at the top??? :h
any backup information to support what you are saying, or what really appears to be only a string of words put together without supporting evidence… - Nvr2loudExplorer II

Two Dutchman's and two lemons.. I would never buy a Dutchman again.
I want to hear about some of the problems.
You evidently got a good one.I'm certainly not new to RV's and the Dutchman fit and finish sucks compared to any RV I have owned...The last one I had,had the kitchen slide.Everytime you used the slide it pulled the hose off the sink drain without ever knowing it was off...Easy fix you say,not really because of the way it was set up besides requiring a hot tub grade tube.
Brand new leaked from the word go,again not noticed until damage was done.Cabinate quality also sucked, holding tank leaked and waater vent clogged as new.
I've owned a slew of new and used RV's from pick-up campers/class C and A Motorhomes/Fifth Wheels and of course trailers and not even a used older unit compared to the flaws of a brand new Dutchman including my 1972 Security travel trailer.
Dutchman was know in these parts as a poor mans mistake and not just by me.
There has been no disagreement from me, I just wanted you to expand on your opinion. I don't own a Dutchman, I just feel that if anyone states that a certain brand 'sucks' then they should expand on that opinion for safe of fair comparison.
I have already stated that I'm very happy with my 10 year old R-Vision, but I'm sure that many other owners have been unhappy with R-Vision and I would love to hear those reasons too. - Nvr2loudExplorer II

Wow look at this, a complete Dutchmen bashing thread with little back up to why :R When just recently I read a post about all the problems someone had with Jayco, but everybody stood up for them and said, oh it must have been a one in a million problem unit...
Dutchmen/Thor are now owned by Keystone, and they make a thousand different brands of trailers, so should they be avoided too????
Every manufacturer makes a lemon model, especially in the RV industry it seems, too much cutting corners and human error on the manufacturer line to pump out product. An RV assembly line is much different then a computer robot controlled automotive line.
My suggestion is to find a floorplan you really like and works for you, then go and meticulously look through everything on that trailer before it leaves the lot, you will catch a lot there.
For the record, I have owned 2 Kodiak Dutchmen/Thor units, and aside from a few small things that plague all trailers in the industry, I am very happy with them. Dutchmen was very helpful when I did have a problem which is very important.
Good luck
I'm not bashing Dutchmen, I'm only asking others to expand on their complaints. It is easy to state that a certain brand 'sucks' but without listing reasons it is meaningless. - fla-gypsyExplorerFind the one you like and then go over it with a fine tooth comb. Every maker turns out junk sometimes and it has nothing to do with supposed quality of higher priced units. ALL of them will turn out some junk and some good models. As mentioned, maintenance is the key to longevity. My current low cost, value priced, supposedly low quality, entry level, (add whatever other term you want) trailer has been great for 9 years.

Maybe now the Dutchman won't be the POS it used to be..My Keystone Springdale is as bullet proof as any Jayco I have owned including the Eagle..Five years out and have not had one problem with it,not even little problems other than one screw pulling out. - jaycocreekExplorer II
