My tent days was pretty modern camping in the end. I got a three room tent and the front part made up to be living quarters with rug on the floor and tables and sitting chairs. The two back rooms was for the folding beds that sit up off the floor with air mattress slipped in. Those were very comfortable sleeping back then. We always ran into the different air pressure from day to night and back to day again haha...
My first large tent looked like this on the inside...
Then the JEEP BRAND 15x12 big tent came out and this is the last tent I got back then. Looks like this setup from google search.. Lots of tent room here.. We always put a large canvas out over the front for sitting awning etc...

Even today we love to head for the mountain streams and back off the trails with our off-road POPUP setup. Living off the batteries and running the 2KW generator three hours each morning to keep the batteries charged we can stay out for a long period of time...
The other beauty of the POPUP is my truck gets GREAT gas mileage pulling it...
