Any solutions for high altitude refrigerator issues?

Makes me feel lucky as our fridge is original to our 25 year old camper and stays lit in the highway at speed and in the mountains as well. Keeping the orifice clear of bugs is a biggie. While stopped at my sister's place in Michigan earlier this year we had some wonky kind of bug or worm that plugged the end of our electrical plug to the truck in just a couple days. Little buggers packed that end full! On the gas, it doesn't take much of an obstruction to make life miserable.
