Last summer we traveled to Alaska. Due to what we were doing we carried a lot of spares. Consequently we tried to reduce weight wherever possible to compensate for the extras we carried. So.......we purchased an air mattress. It was very comfortable, and so were the next three. The first two were from Walmart. They were inexpensive and did not last. By the way, be sure you understand their return policy on air mattresses. After that we went to REI. Great mattresses, much better quality. They are backpacker quality, light and a good product. The mattresses from Walmart were poor quality(I cannot remember the brand). The mattresses from REI were good quality, you can see the difference. Bottom line, none held air. We had to add air every two days. Hopefully someone will chime in with a better suggestion or better luck on a similar product FWIW I would stick with a regular mattress.
