LOL .....your on a RV website and will get opinions of all kinds on what determines a overweight truck.
Its always been the vehicle axle/tire load ratings. Now your truck may have some type of registered weight for registration purposes for the truck or the truck/trailer combination .......your state may ticket you for exceeding that number.
However that registered weight can't cause the steer axle or drive axle or trailer axle to exceed the lessor of its axle load rating or the tires load rating.
I would contact your states size and weight folks or drop by your local state troop command and let them explain it to you what they will use to determine if your truck/trailer is over loaded.....or the chances/reasons of them ever stopping you while towing a RV.
