Anybody here tow using a Tundra 5.7 w/SR5 and Towing pkg.?

Kinda new here,

Can't find info and discussions about towing a travel trailer with a Tundra 5.7 liter with SR5 and Towing package. Can someone direct me to where this is on RV.NET forums? Surely I'm not the only one with millions of these trucks on the road :@

Thanks to all who reply to this.

Thanks for the info Red Rocket. It works. Guess I was using too many search terms, just "Tundra" does the trick.
  • I tow a 09 KZ-Spree weight loaded at 6200lbs with my 08 Tundra dbl cab. I have towed it numerous times through the Rockies, (last trip was to Steamboat Lake S.P. in Colorado two weeks ago. a two month trip through Canada, Alaska in 2010. No issues with pulling it. Just check the tow vehicle or towing forum.
  • I'm pulling my 29' Sunline that is around 8,000 lbs. loaded and my 2007 5.7 Tundra does pretty well. I'm not so sure I want to take it across the Rockies but it could probably manage it. That's why I'm looking for a new trailer that will weigh in at least 1500 lbs. lighter before we head out west. Obviously, you need a good weight distribution hitch with anti-sway. I use the Tow Haul mode on the Tundra and avoid cruise control. I like the fact that the Tundra has a transmission temperature gauge.
  • I tow 30 ft TT that weighs 6500 loaded. I've pulled this set up in the Smokies as well as the Sierra mountains with no issues. Love my truck!
  • My Tundra 5.7 liter with SR5 and Towing package in action --->

Does well, it is a lite weight 24 ft trailer, 4,000 lbs dry weight, most likely 5,000 lbs equip'ed and loaded trailer. There is a little noticeable sway if I fill too much in the bed of the truck, nothing major, just I have noticed not as stable, if truck has a lot of weight in it.

Gas mileage when pulling trailer, 9.5- 10.5 average (depending on terrain and how easy you drive).

  • I tow a 2014 Jayco White Hawk (5,942lbs dry - yellow sticker, and 31' 11" long) with a 2012 4x4 Crew Max SR5, with the 5.7 and tow.
  • We tow a 23ft Airstream with a 2013 Tundra
