Towing 13k I would probably stick with a diesel. If you do, you could stick with the Ford, and use the lubricity additive, or trade for another brand. It hurts me to say this, because I have always loved my Fords (never owned a diesel though), but if I was in the market for one I'd think long and hard about the others. I just don't get it Ford. No light comes on, but you deny the warranty. What in the world else could the OP, Ricatic, and others do? As far as insurance goes, Geico has mechanical break down coverage, but it has to be purchased within the first few thousand miles I believe, and ends at another set amount of miles. Someone with firsthand knowledge of that may chime in. Good luck OP, I would probably contact someone higher up, maybe even have a lawyer write a letter? Worth a try. As far as towing with my gasser Ford 6.2, I tow around 7500 lbs no problem. I'm used to a gasser though, and with your 5er weight, and having towed it with the diesel I'm not convinced you'd be happy.
